Christie Powell (CP)

Owner/Director of CATZ Physical Therapy
CP was the founder and owner of Champion Performance Physical Therapy and is currently the Director of CATZ Physical Therapy. CP was a high school athlete in soccer, softball and volleyball who graduated from Westwood High School in Austin and played collegiate soccer and softball at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio where she received her undergraduate degree. She then received her Masters from Texas State University in San Marcos in 2001 and is currently pursuing her PhD in Kinesiology/Movement Science at the University of Texas. CP is dedicated to working with youth and adult athletes and is involved in various programs to promote education and increase awareness of athletic injuries. CP works with several local physicians to offer free injury assessments and injury prevention seminars throughout the year. CP’s passion and experience as a collegiate athlete allows her to relate with her patients and create unique relationships that last well beyond their sporting careers!

Playing soccer on my club team, traveled to England, playing in front of the Queen!- playing women’s Manchester United team, game tied 0-0, about 10 minutes left in the game, I am sidelined with an injury to my knee that I will have surgery on when I return to the states, I ask coach to put me in to get a goal, he does and in the last few minutes of the game, I score the winning header and we take home the trophy! In front of the QUEEN OF ENGLAND!
